My technology coordinator told me about a teacher who wanted to display a page from a library book on a document camera. Before doing so, she called the author to get permission. The author was furious and told the teacher that she had to buy a copy of the book for each student! Has anyone else come across this particular situation? Is that really a violation of copyright? I hold up books for my students during story time. Is that a violation of copyright law?
