My girlfriend, an E8, just finished this book and thought it was excellent, 
especially in describing the failure of senior leadership to maintain 
discipline and support younger soldiers.

Fallen angels, by Walter Dean Myers

This is the selection for my community book club this month.

where literary incense must be burned or where one's devotion to the bound 
book is expressed in ritual. A library, to modify the famous metaphor of 
Socrates, should be the delivery room for the birth of ideas - a place where
