I am meeting today with my district IT committee to discuss a project I'm spearheading to automate some of the other libraries in my district (mine has been automated since before I arrived). We have very, very small schools and it's occurred to me that I might have a very different perspective on automation than non-librarians. I think it's crucial, but then again, I'm a librarian. What do non-librarians think? So, besides time-saving, what are the best automation arguments you can think of? I'd like to focus on student impact. Of course, learning how to use an online catalog is a big library skill, any help articulating that would be much appreciated. Thank so much for your last minute help.
