To my knowledge there is no law that says a student cannot read something in public school as long as it is not pornographic or inappropriate. If I were one of the students who were told that they couldn't read the Bible, I would be asking the staff member who told me this to show me the law. Hey, if there were such a law, wouldn't this be among the instructions as public school teachers that we receive at the beginning of each year? If there were such a law, wouldn't it be "in our faces" a lot more? If I am wrong about this, I sincerely want/need to be educated about this--please let me know--I won't be offended.
