[LM_NET] Religion Books--a follow-up tale

Folks-

This thread got me thinking. Within my first weeks as a Librarian, I noticed that 
the entirety of our religion books consisted of one book on the Amish and some 
Greek Fables.

Apparently, a predecessor had been concerned with having religion books on the 
shelves. I wrote various religious organizations and most were happy to send me a 
free copy of their scripture.

I wound up with copies of the Bible, Koran, Book of Mormon, teachings of Buddha, 
etc. at NO cost to our library. (I.E. no school/state funds spent on their 
purchase.)  These get used very often when SS classes study world religions. Most 
religious groups will happily provide copies to you if you use the magic word. Just 
be fair and comprehensive! (And write thank you notes!)
