Good morning everyone: I know this may sound like a random question, but I couldn't find anything in the archives on it. How many of you still laminate the jacket covers for hardback books that have the same design on the cover? In other words, if it is just a plain cover on the hardback, then I have no problem covering the jacket, but what about some of the others? I am especially thinking of picture books for the kids where no one bothers to read the "description" inside anyway--they simply grab the book with the pretty cover and out the door they go. Do others still take the time to cover those jacket covers and then tape them onto the book or do you just shove them into a drawer somewhere and use them for other projects? I have no assistant, so the covering is all done by me. We have no laminating machine at the school so I use some plastic covering that I have purchased from Demco or someone, but now I am wondering if I need to bother anymore. I really don't see that they are "protecting" the books all that much and sometimes it just gets more frustrating since they have a tendency to stick together on the shelves in this humid climate. What say you oh wise ones? Thanks!
