Hello LM_NET! Thank you to everyone who responded. I didn't get too many response but I am grateful for what I did get. If you think of anything else I would gladly repost a hit. Thanks again! Original Post: My Transition Teacher and I are working on a list of chapter books for our elementary classes for next year that have social skills. The teachers will be using the books as a read aloud to the class. We are also hoping to add writing and/or a craft activity as well. Our classes are typically a mix of grades 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5; but they can also be 3-4-5, or 2-3-4 and so on depending on our enrollment. If you know of any books that have any of the following social skills and for any grade level (1st-5th) I would gratefully appreciate it. If you can state the social skill and grade level that will help me put the list together for easier reference for everyone. Is there a site that may also have this information available? Thanks in advance! I will definitely post a hit once I gather all the titles. Responses: I often used the "Junie B Jones" series as examples of what not to do and how she learned a lesson Try Russell Hoban's "A Bargain for Frances" and also his "Best Friends for Frances". They're sweet without being too preachy. There's a "Boy in the Girls' Bathroom" by Louis Sachar has always been one of my favorites! "Alvin Ho" is wonderful and good for any grade level elementary student to listen to or read themselves in upper elem. ********************* Michelle Levy School Library Media Specialist Eton Academy Birmingham, MI <mailto:rylor4@comcast.net> rylor4@gmail.com (home) mlevy@etonacademy.org (work) Currently reading - The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E.
