The previous librarian at my school had her aide keeping the accession records. She
would handwrite them on one ledger, and then she would type up the records to be
placed in her binder. We had our technology coordinator set this up on an Excel
worksheet several months ago, and that worked great for a while. Recently we
started having trouble getting it to save. Long story shortened, our records are a
mess now.

Here is my question. Is it really necessary to keep separate Accession Records when
we have all of the records on our computer cataloging program? I need opinions and
ideas before making a final decision on this issue. Note: we are changing from
Athena to Destiny this summer. If you have Destiny, does it come with an accession
records program?

Thanks!
