(Original post below) Suggestions I received: * Many responded positively about Un-Du; one neutral response, saying it is similar to Goo-Gone in terms of odor and residue. One person said that if any residue remains after Un-Du, DEMCO's book cleaner will take it off. * Hand sanitizer [I tried it, and it works great! Didn't leave any residue on paperbacks or dust jackets.] * WD-40 * Product called "Awesome" from Dollar Tree * 3M adhesive remover * Rubbing alcohol * Peanut butter Thanks for all of the responses! Original post: I've been using Goo-Gone to remove stubborn stickers/labels from books. It leaves a lovely, greasy, smelly residue. Are there other products I can purchase (that aren't terribly expensive) that do the same job, without the mess? If you've used Un-Du adhesive remover (available through DEMCO), do you think it's a quality product?
