I = meet with them to look at the learning styles of individual students and = gather materials (sometimes order titles) for those students. I observe = and record struggling students' library selections to provide information = to the classroom teacher and the specialist working with that age group. = Sometimes I collaborate on curriculum. The specialist for the 4th graders = and I created and refined a genre curriculum for independent reading where = I selected and book talked titles in the classroom and the teachers helped = select "just right" books for the individual students. Sometimes I help = create curriculum and the reading specialists take it over the administrati= on with the classroom teachers. (this is a mixed blessing, "hey wait a = minute, that was my lesson!" competes with the stated goal- more kids are = reading more and are excited about books and reading. I asked her what she = was going to read next and she said she thought she'd read the = Pseudonymous Bosch book, The Name of This Book is Secret. Then she said = that she's heard that Pseudonymous Bosch and Lemony Snicket are one and = the same author. I know that Lemony Snicket is really Daniel Handler, = but I haven't been able to find any credible source of information about = the real name of Pseudonymous Bosch. It's around the middle grade = blogosphere (didn't know there WAS a middle grade blogosphere, but = apparently there is), that they are the same person.=20 Do any of you know for sure if Lemony Snicket (Daniel Handler) and = Pseudonymous Bosch are the same author? However, you may like the second alternative.=C2=A0 Create a PowerPoint tha= t has no words and no text boxes.=C2=A0 Make each slide have a different co= lored background.=C2=A0 For example, use ROY G BIV =E2=80=93 make one slide= red, one slide orange, one slide yellow, etc.=C2=A0 Use all the colors you= would typically like to see as a background.=C2=A0 Don=E2=80=99t forget a = white slide and a black slide.=C2=A0 Now you should have a PowerPoint of be= autiful rainbow colors.=C2=A0 No, follow the directions in the paragraph ab= ove to save this PowerPoint as a JPEG.=C2=A0=20 Following this process gives you =E2=80=9Cpictures=E2=80=9D to insert in to= PhotoStory that are blank colored slides.=C2=A0 You can then use the text = features of PhotoStory to add titles, credits, etc. The most typical response for use of the 3 programs was for booktrailers an= d welcome to the library shows.
