Chicken Packets
2 C cooked, chopped chicken (recommend boneless breasts)
1 3-oz package cream cheese, softened
1 TBSP chopped chives
2 TBSP milk
salt to taste
1/2 C crushed, seasoned crouton crumbs
2 8-oz packages refrigerated crescent rolls
1/4 C (1/2 stick) melted butter
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Mix top 5 ingredients in medium bowl. Mixing with hands works best.
3. Unroll crescent rolls. Each tube contains 4 rectangles with
perforations. Press dough along the perforation so the rectangle halves
will not separate into triangles.
4. Place about 1/4 C of chicken mixture into each rectangle.
5. Fold dough over the filling and pinch edges to seal tightly.
6. Dip each packet into melted butter (or use basting brush to brush on
melted butte) and coat with crouton crumbs.
7. Place packets on baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until golden
brown.
Makes 8 packets.
The chicken mixture can be made ahead of time and frozen.
