Hello! My name is Kim Stieber-White. I am a brand new HS LMS in
Wisconsin. I started a book club and purchased 10 copies of the
selected book. Now that we are done with this title, I am looking to
find out what other HS libraries might have multiple copies of for book
club so we could exchange. Does anyone know how this is done? Thanks!

I will start my first book club on Tuesday. Who knows what my group will
be like but I would like to consider exchanging books and perhaps
Skyping each other to have a big discussion.

I used the local public library as we do not have enough high school
libraries from which to borrow.

I use interlibrary loan and have the kids in my group each request their
own copy. It kills two birds with one stone, as they learn to use
interlibrary loan and saves money. We pick our books about two ahead so
that the books come in just in time for our next book pick.

Interlibrary loan takes about two weeks here in CT. Good luck

What a great idea! But you are better at getting them back than I am.
I have 9 Their Eyes Were Watching God, 8 Three Cups of Tea, 5 People of
the Book and I will have 10 Physick Book of Deliverance Dane after
December 1.
Do any of those interest you?

I have no idea, but some type of exchange program even through this list
serve would be wonderful.

Kim, I've wondered this myself, but since we use school funds to
purchase books, I don't know how we can do this. If I had the gumption,
it would be a great project to organize a website for sharing. Even in
our own districts I could see each school buying a set or two of prior
agreed upon titles and use the school system pony service and a set
schedule to rotate books. This is my first year with a book club and we
just did The Hunger Games. I'll ask my supervisor if we could do an
exchange out of district. But this sure is a great idea that could
easily work. What book did your group do? I'll save your e-mail and
get back to you.
