You can make the catalog the home page. Go to Back Office, Access Levels,
and then check (or uncheck) View Homepage. It is the first item. If you
can't see Access Levels on the left when you are in Back Office, you will
need to talk to your Destiny Admin.
The homepage can be made more interesting, but everything must be done in
code. There are several sites available where you can create what you want
and then get the code for it - FREE. I like to use http://www.quackit.com.
My page is suffering from neglect right now, but I have had everything from
our teachers of the year's pictures to the Book Fair logo to recently
released book covers. I even put our guest author's photo and his books on
there. Time, as usual, is the greatest hindrance.

I agree the default Destiny homepage is somewhat lame. I also wish they
would have an option we could select that would enable students to go
directly to the catalog tab. A lot of my kids get confused when they see
the homepage and don't understand they have to click on the "Catalog" tab.
It's annoying. Widgets would make things more interesting.
