While we are talking about Sara & the ALA presidency, I want to thank Sara for 
running. It is an expensive undertaking in both time & money. Consider making a 
donation to her campaign fund.

Also, we need to get the word about Sara out to our other library friends. Consider 
hosting a Sara Kelly Johns party, coffee or book talk & invite public, special & 
academic colleagues. Great way to get to know each other, have fun, collaborate & 
GET SARA ELECTED!

Let me know if you host such an event & I will send u Sara stuff.

I want to second Barbara's observations and recommendation of Sara Kelly
Johns as ALA president.  I've had the great honor of meeting with Sara and
talking with her about several school library-related issues and I was
delighted to find out that... "she gets it!"

I know that there are many qualified individuals who come up for election as
ALA president, but now more than ever, school librarians need a voice from
the TOP to guide us (and others) in making school libraries across the
nation a vital component in the academic lives of our students.

If you haven't had the chance to meet Sara in person, then definitely
check-out her website to learn more about her!  She's been working right
along with us all the way and should now help to guide the organization in
meeting the needs of school libraries and librarians around the nation.
