FACEBOOK

Original post:

Does your library have a page on Facebook? What information do you include? Do
your students use it? I am eager to learn from your experience.

We've just been getting this off the ground.....

2. I am responding to your LMNET post, instead of using Facebook, we have
opted for Twitter and I have been very happy with it. It is a useful tool to get
info out. Take a look: www.twitter.com/smithlibchild if you have questions, just
ask!

3. I have a facebook page that's new this year. I'm uploading photos of any
technology that's being used in the school, displays that I want to show off, and
any projects that my Aides are doing. Check it out! Mancelona High School Media
Center.

4. I just started one a few weeks ago and have 105 friends (and about 15 or so more
on my Twitter). It's for grades 7 and 8, primarily. I post stuff like what I'm
reading, book trailers, lists of good reads. So far, so good. You can check it
out at:

4. My library does not have a facebook page but I'm thinking of adding one. I
have my own personal facebook page and do have contact with several students
although it's not encouraged by the New York City Dept. of Ed. I think it is impt.
to reach kids today on pages they read and it seems like it would be helpful. Last
year I attended a "library camp" with alot of college librarians and they all had
facebook pages and twitter accounts.
