Here's a follow-up to my first HIT about Follett Destiny and pros/cons, etc. Our
district librarian meeting is tomorrow and we're compiling info from other
librarians to include in our presentation. Thanks for the information. I love
LM_Net!

More:

We're in our second year of Destiny and finally talked the tech
department into putting online instead of just in house. This week I've
been enrolling students in their own accounts so we can send them email
and they can place their own holds on books.

We love the resource list/pathfinder function and have created
numerous lists. I'm just beginning to show teachers how to do that.

I've used all of Follett's products for years. Before them I
used Dynix and when I work at the local community college I use a
different system. Follett's Destiny is fantastic. As an upgrade to your
circ plus, you'll have no problems with the transfer. Follett is an
excellent company that provides top rate support and their training is
excellent. We use Destiny library manager and textbook manager.
OUr
students do use it at home and this year they can put holds on books
from home and create their own accounts. I haven't even had
orientations yet and they're already showing up with hold requests.
recommend that you get alliance plus and title peek- they're both
excellent.
It's an easy deal using their product. I don't know of any other one out there that
is as good.
