Hello,

My district made the decision to tape the speech for individual
teacher review. If there is something of curricular value to a
teacher and his/her class, then the speech may be used. I think the
rationale is: We have worked long and hard on our curriculum and are
loathe to turn it over to someone not involved in that design
process. be it President Obama, Channel One or some other
entity. While President Obama is the leader of our country, he is
also a politician with an ax to grind. I do not recall that my
district broadcast educational policy speeches from any of the
President's predecessors, either.

All the best,
Alan
