Help! Our tech people are talking about replacing the library catalog systems in the district with a freeware program. The contacted me and my counterpart at the high school this morning to arrange a meeting in two days. I know what freeware is of course, but don't really know much about the available catalogs out there. I am looking for one of two things - either reassurance that this isn't as bad as it sounds and the name of the freeware catalog your own school uses and, if you'd be willing to take the time, what it is you like about it OR Reasons against going the freeware route that would mean something to non-library people who are trying to save money. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
