I say "Go for it!"  I am in the midst of weeding my collection (which seems
to have NEVER been weeded).  It is yucky and time consuming, but wonderful
to see shelf space appearing.  I weeded the fiction completely in the fall
(600 copies out the door) and am halfway through the non-fiction (thanks to
state testing giving me closed time in the library)!

Next year, after we've completely weeded our collections, it will definitely
be easier to maintain and as Beverly mentioned, see what's working and not
working.
