My library's shelving is old (30 years) and in need of replacement, but budgets are such that this is not going to happen anytime soon. We are in dire need of one extender shelf -- we're currently using a mobile cart to hold books in its place, but it's not a perfect solution. I've been trying to get my principal to buy this shelf for several years now. Pricing out the shelves at various vendors, they were much cheaper through Library Store ($257), but my most recent request has been denied because shipping costs were too expensive ($178). I agree this is rather exorbitant, but the library really needs this shelf! My question is: does anyone recommend a company through which to order ONE wooden library shelf, where I wouldn't have to pay high shipping charges?
