[LM_NET] Target: Using Roman Numerals in Outlines

Group,
I have a teacher asking "why" you begin an outline with Roman Numerals.  I have 
done a quick search and not found the answer.  If you know, or can direct me to a 
link to share with the teacher.  I can impress her with our ability to find 
everything!  Thanks in advance.
