[LM_NET] ADM: Book Challenge: Absolutely true diary of a Part-Time Indian

Dear Great and Wise Ones:

A parent from another school district called this morning wanting to know if
I had read "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian" by Alexie
Sherman.
I have not.
She said that it was being challenged in their district. She had read a
synopsis of the book and wondered what the person(s) who are challenging the
book are objecting too. She did not want to contact anyone in the district.
I found several reviews of the book. While none of them were glowing, they
all seemed positive.

Have any of you read the book? If so, would you give it a positive review?
What do you think may have prompted the challenge of the book?
