Thank you again to all those that responded to my target. I have added suggested sites to the summer reading page on our website. Original post: I've been working on my "fun summer reads" web page lately, and I would like to offer my students recommendations from more than just myself and the other students at the school. I've currently linked to ReadKiddoRead, Guys Read, A Book and a Hug, Teen Reads, and JacketFlap. Are there other sites that contain themed lists of books, recommended reads, etc., that would be good for middle school level students? Thanks in advance! Responses: This one has a ton of lists. On the left, you can choose lists based on authors, genres, themes, values, school subjects, and others. I use it constantly. Many of the list are marked for a specific grade level (or levels). http://atn-reading-lists.wikispaces.com/ _____ https://sites.google.com/a/harmony175.org/emgelibrarylab/home/library_readersadvisory This site above is mine and I add sites that I think would be useful to my middle school kids. _____ http://www.whatshouldireadnext.com/search _____ Hi Sarah--Don't forget the great James Patterson site, www.ReadKiddoRead.com. The more than 300 annotated reviews on the site range from ages birth-teen, and there's quite a lot on there for middle school kids. Plus, if you click on COMMUNITY, you'll find lots of good booklists, including my annotated Summer Reading Lists, with more than 100 titles, for grades K-4 and 5-14. I'll be updating that for this summer, and the new list will go up in May.Best to all the Mid-Del school folks--I spoke there in 2001 and had a wonderful time.
