I am putting together some ideas for some colleagues about reading challenges and I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to point me to a website or explain how a Battle of the Books contest is run. It seems, from what I have read here, that a collection of books is selected and a quiz made with questions about each. Students answer the questions, dropping out if they miss one. Is that right? Do all contestants have to read each book or is it a team thing? How do you ensure you have enough copies that don't then linger on the shelves once the quiz is over? Anything else you can offer would be great-but I am going offline for the weekend so I won't be able to acknowledge responses till next week.
