My question was how often should books about the Olympics be replaced, since the information is out of date every four years. I just received a couple replies for this one: You are right-there are not a lot of updated books published on the Olympics out there and those that are are often printed after the event when results are final. When we are recommending books to schools, we often will suggest books on specific athletes who are former, current (or likely) champions-e.g. Michael Phelps, Shaun White, etc. I don't go for the ones which talk about the "current" games, but look more for the history of the modern olympics. One example would be Modern Olympic games by Haydn Middleton (Heinemann Library). It has a reading level at about 7th grade (interest level 3-8) and was reviewed by Horn Boook, Library Media Connedtions and SLJ. It's a bit dry but has a lot of information for the "report" looking students. Thanks so much to those who replied!
