Oops! Thas was a hit

A HUGE thanks to everyone who sent titles on.
Someone asked for a hit so here it is.

The original query was for books where toys come to life, for a kindergarten
teacher.

The ones that were mentioned most were Emily Jenkins' Toys go out and the
sequel.

-------------
The Doll People series by Martin,

Pam Conrad's TUB PEOPLE, TUB GRANDFATHER and TUB PEOPLES' CHRISTMAS are
oldies but goodies.
Mini Grey's TRACTION MAN may be easier to find, likewise Manushkin's SHIVERS
IN THE FRIDGE---and the right group of
kindergarteners might not find William's VELVETEEN RABBIT too traumatic.

Hitty by Field

Sleeping Cutie by Andrea Davis Pinkney

Traction Man Is Here and Traction Man Meets Turbodog by Mini Grey

Little Bear's Trousers by Jane Hissey (and her other books about Old Bear)

Oscar: THe Big Adventure of a Little Sock Monkey by Amy Schwartz

Velveteen Rabbit! Although I'm not sure if it's appropriate for
kindergarten..... :-/

TOYS GO OUT illustrated by Paul Zelinsky. I think it's by Emily
Jenkins.There's a sequel I think it's TOys Dance Party

While you were sleeping -- Alexis Deacon
A girl's bedside *toys* go to great lengths to keep her safe at night while
she is asleep.

Indian in the Cupboard is probably too old for kindergarten, but she might
want to look at it anyway.

Knight's Castle by Edward Eager, could work for a read aloud

Pinocchio

I am Pangoo the Penguin by Satomi Ichikawa

The miraculous journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo -- too old for
your kinders but a great story

Corduroy by Don Freeman

Milne's Winnie the Pooh characters

Catherine Alison's Brown Paper Teddy Bear,

Two more classic titles include "The Steadfast Tin Soldier" by Hans
Christian Andersen and the Raggedy Ann series by Johnny Gruelle. Both may be
beyond the reach of kindergarteners though.

"Alexander and the Wind-Up Mouse" by Leo Lionni is the lovely story of a
real mouse who wants to become a toy, but in the end helps a toy mouse to
become real.
