A colleague of mine in another elementary school just shared this story
with me...  I guess we do matter to our students, don't we!


I just had a grade 1 student fix me with a steely stare and ask, "Why
weren't you here when it was our library day?" I said, "I had to go to a
funeral, Logan, sorry." He looked me over and said, "Well, was it
yours?"  I guess there is no other reason why I should be away.
