I think I am going to do a weekly update regarding new activity on our "Book Trailers for All" site, rather than trying to post each time a new trailer is posted. A LOT has happened over the past week, with the creation of theBTFA page on 4shared<https://www.4shared.com/u/vgpvszst/15eb7f4e/Book_Trailers_for_All.html?sId=d9AbDPj1gJRZVxDd>. Probably the most exciting thing, to me anyway, is that Nancy Werlin's Husband Jim McCoy blogged<http://jimmccoyandnancywerlin.blogspot.com/2010/02/wait-theres-more.html> about the BTFA page yesterday! He even mentioned Robin Henry's name--which is something for which Robin and Wakeland High School in Frisco, Texas<http://sites.google.com/site/wakelandhslibrary/>should be pretty proud. Here's the latest about BTFA: - As of today, there have been 1,680 downloads from the 4shared site.<https://www.4shared.com/u/vgpvszst/15eb7f4e/Book_Trailers_for_All.html?sId=d9AbDPj1gJRZVxDd> (There are a total of 62 trailers) - The top five downloads are for the books CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS by Dav Pilkey (created by a 5th grader), UNWIND, by Neal Shusterman (created by June Henson), GYM CANDY, by Carl Deuker (created by Robin Henry), CRANK, by Ellen Hopkins (created by Teresa Schauer), and WINTERGIRLS, by Laurie Halse Anderson (created by Jace Daily) - Title and Creator information has been added to each trailer at BTFA. - There were eight new trailers posted to the Teacher Tube group<http://teachertube.com/members/groupHome.php?group_id=booktrailersforall>and theBTFA page on 4shared<https://www.4shared.com/u/vgpvszst/15eb7f4e/Book_Trailers_for_All.html?sId=d9AbDPj1gJRZVxDd>. The details for the trailers can be found on the attached spreadsheet. The complete spreadsheet detailing all the trailers can be found in the Documents Folder on the 4shared site<https://www.4shared.com/dir/32063608/ec5a895/Documents.html>. (The details for each book include: title, author, age appropriateness, summary, AR/RC quiz info, creator and a direct link to the trailer) - Remember, if you would like for your trailer to be included in the folders at BTFA, please follow the directions for uploading it to the TT group. The directions for doing so can be found in the "Documents" folder. Once it's uploaded there, a moderator from BTFA will get it converted and added to the sharing files. (PLEASE REMEMBER, in order for a trailer to be uploaded to either page, it must give proper attribution for images and music) - A couple of people had trouble with the upload process at TT. If you try to upload your trailer and have problems, please let me know. If you send the file to me, I will be happy to upload it for you. WHEW, I think that's it for this week's update. During the upcoming week, I hope to see lots more trailers uploaded--we are especially in need of trailers for Lower Grade interest level books. By the time of next week's update I hope to include statistical information for each trailer. On a HAPPY note, as I was typing this email, my phone buzzed noting an incoming message--it was from NANCY WERLIN herself, thanking us for the site and most especially she raved about Robin's trailer for her book IMPOSSIBLE. GO ROBIN!!
