Hi Everyone,
I just met with my Principal to go over an observation I had the week before break
(I wasn't being brave, she scheduled it haha) and while she loved my lesson, and
told me how nice it is to see the Library as a joyful, and busy place, she told me
the one thing I need to work on is my transitions, and getting students' attention
in general, she said she didn't want me to become a Library Meanie, but I need to
be able to get their attention quickly, and in general work on disipline as it
applies to classroom management.
She said she wanted to see me using some chants, or verbal cues, or clapping
patterns to get attention. I have switched around but haven't found anything that
works for me yet, I even got insane one day and tried a WHISTLE, haha.
What do you do to get your students' attention, they tend to talk right over me at
times. I work in a k-5 building so I am really looking for things I can use with
that range, 1-2-3 Eyes on Me is cute for the little ones, but the 5th graders would
be rolling their eyes.
I also think I am in need of an egg timer. Hmm
