My high school English teacher that teaches our dual credit class has "done" the Middle East the last two years. The kids have read Three Cups of Tea, and she has shown Bend it Like Beckam, Not Without My Daughter, and Slumdog Millionaire. Next year she thinks she would like to do something from Africa. She thinks she will use Hotel Rwanda. She is looking for books and movies that would show different points of view about what some of the problems are in Africa today. Perhaps a movie made in Africa, or something. I told her I would ask this list for suggestions, because I know many of you will have wonderful ideas. Thanks in advance. currently reading Hans Brinker or The Silver Skates Crispin The Time of my Life (Patrick Swayze) Janet Perry, Prek-12 Librarian Cerro Gordo CUSD 100, Cerro Gordo, IL perrybros@hotmail.com _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail: Trusted email with powerful SPAM protection. http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/201469227/direct/01/ -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
