ORIGINAL TARGET:

I'm finding that my iPhone battery doesn't last a full day when I'm flying
from home to a school author visit or a conference. The tech guy at the
Apple store suggested that I buy a Mophie Juice Box Air at $79. I've done
some poking around and see that there are several of these "extra battery"
cases for the iPhone. Could you drop me a note if you have any one of them
and give me the pros and cons and approximate price range?

RESPONSES:

Make sure you turn of fWireless, that drains the battery big time. Most
teachers in our school have to do that to get through the day.

Go to Apple's website here
http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_iphone/iphone_accessories/power?mco=MTM3NjM5OTQ
and check on various ones and customer reviews. One thing about the ones
here is that they are basically 'Apple approved'.

I decided to go with a Kensington Mini Battery Pack & Charger. This fits
onto the bottom of my iPhone and doesn't require a thicker case.

In my traveling mode, I carry a very small purse that gets stuffed into
another carryone bag. So using one of the power pack cases just made my
iPhone too thick. I can carry the battery, add it when needed to charge the
phone on the go, and then charge both the battery and the phone at night.
The battery does have to charge with a USB option.

I have one that I bought at woot.com (which means it is not available every
day), but it works pretty well. It is called "iPower" and is made by
TennRich Electronics and has the name "xpal" on the front. I paid about $30
for it.

Thanks All!
Toni
