I find that 10-15 minutes is a good compromise for tile to find and not too much 
time to fool around. If our purpose is to support reading by connecting kids to 
books they like and will read we have to allow the time for the process to happen. 
Otherwise it becomes grab the first book off the shelf because you have to have a 
book and there is no time for thoughtful selection. That increases your workload of 
having to reshelve books that no one has read.

Why? Because some kiddos will take the whole period wandering around the 
library, not to be actually connecting with a book but just to be wandering, 
visiting with friends, playing with the shelf markers.....
