Hello everyone,

I work with a subscription-based literacy website for PK-6 (described
below). We are currently creating an Advisory Board of educational
professionals and would love to include media specialists, technology
coordinators, and other educational professionals on our board to
provide input on various aspects of the site and recommendations for
additional features and content.

If you are interested in participating please email me off list with
the following information.

Website (if available)

SITE DESCRIPTION
A web-based community that uses beautifully illustrated books to
engage children in reading, writing and learning, while providing a
24x7, standards-based education resource that connects teachers,
students and parents. There are three main components to the site as
follows:

The Reader: Provides access to over 1,400 fiction and nonfiction
children's books and optional quizzes to assess reading comprehension.
The Author: Students and teachers can create, print and publish their
own books with an easy-to-use writing tool and a large clip-art
library. They can also upload their own photos and artwork to
incorporate in their books.
The Community: Students and teachers can safely share their
"bookshelf," recommendations and published books with peers only
(students in their classroom) or to other members around the world.
I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for your
interest.

Sincerely,

Karen Derrico
