Hi Great Brain, A patron asked today about a picture book mentioned in Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick. It's a children's picture book where the character is walking through a garden. This fantasy-like garden changes from browns of winter to greens of spring as the character is walking along. Does anyone know the title of the children's book that Mr. Goolrick is referring to? It seems that ALA is transitioning to Standards for the 21st Century Learner AND Empowering Learners: Guidelines for School Library Media Programs in place of Information Power. The ALA website says they "complement" one another. It seems you need both. Upon doing a little further research, I found a third book, Standards for the 21st Century Learner in Action which gives examples in grade levels.
