Hello all, I'm working on our school's 2011 summer reading list and would like to revamp what the teachers have come up with in the past. Does anyone have a good source of summer reading lists for grades 1 through 8 they can share with me? In particular, we are looking for classic books that provide cultural literacy, books that a child would not necessarily choose read on their own. It's easy to think of these books at the higher grades - books by Ray Bradbury or John Steinbeck, for example - but am having a harder time at the lower grades, in particular, 3rd grade. There should be titles that appeal to girls and boys. I would really, really appreciate anyone's help with this!
