This parent just made my day.

Her high school son had been told at least 3 times in the last 5 days to
return his 2 library books or he would not get his report card. He would
smile at me and say "Oh yeah" and wander off.

Yesterday morning, I saw him standing in the parking lot with his mother and
she was not happy. As I wandered by I heard the words "library book" and
"taxi" and found out that she had basically informed him that since she had
heard from his tattletale best friend that the librarian had specifically
reminded him several times to bring back the books, she would run him home
and he could walk in the door, grab the books and call a taxi to bring
himself back to the school to return those books and thus get his report
card. She ended the conversation with a hug and a kiss.

I just couldn't help but feel that this is one mother who might actually be
doing it right.
