This made me laugh at a crazy time of year:
I had a student being back a dripping , sopping wet book and hand it in to
his first grade teacher. She was kind enough to put it in a Ziploc bag
before she gave it to me. He insisted he had "gotten" it that way! I sent
home a note about the book's condition, and his parents came in to pay the
fine. His father sheepishly told me, "I think I know what happened".
 "He likes to sit on the potty and read while his younger brothers are
taking a bath, I think it fell in the tub." We all couldn't help but laugh.
At least he's reading! I thanked the parent for paying the fine.
It sure made a a funny picture in my mind all day.
