Graphics (GIF files in particular) can be uploaded/downloaded as any other
binary file.  Beware of trying to conserve disk space/bandwidth by
compressing or ZIPing  GIFs.  In some cases, a compressed graphic file is
actually LARGER than an uncompressed file.
