Dear Friends-

Below are some other resources that I shared with my
faculty.

Here in California, the tragedy had already occurred by the
time our schoolday began. We began our day with the pledge
of allegiance as always. Then teachers were asked to
conduct age-appropriate discussions (we are a K-6 campus)
that were driven by the students questions, focussing on
separating fact from rumor (particularly the fear that Los
Angeles was "next.") The rest of the day was an attempt at
normalcy.

Because teachers were asked not to have their TV's on when
students were present due to the graphic nature of the
images, my assistant and I compiled hourly news bulletins
that we distributed throughout the school. The teachers
were grateful to be kept in the loop as what limited
information there was was made available.

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their
families,
Yapha

The Jewish Education Center of Cleveland has put together a
Response Curriculum to the Attack. While written for a
Jewish audience, it can be adapted for use without
religious overtones as well.
