I've been working with a colleague about use of music during the creation of a video product, such as a music video a la MTV. The colleague insists that there are latitudes given to students in the creation of a video product. I can find no place in books, etc. describing such latitude. It still boils down to 10% or no more than 30 seconds. Any one have any different information I can look at. The real problem seems to be that students would rather not do the project at all if they can't use popular music, and it would be pretty hard to get much enthusiasm for the flattened out, musically uninteresting copyright-free music we have purchased.
