Hello LM_Netters,

  I gave my comments on the Global Quest video yesterday. The opening is
wonderful with the spontaneous excitement of kids using the Internet. This
afternoon I showed it to a group of 45 library media specialists at a workshop
I presented on the Internet. We discussed the controversy briefly after viewing
the tape. When I introduced the tape I said nothing about the controversy.  i
simply said it was a tape produced by NASA and had real world kids doing real
world things on the Internet.  I didn't hear a lot of negative reaction.  A few
were subscribers to lm_net and were aware of the issue.
  I'll say it again I thought it was a great video.  The point made was we can
get up-to-date information almost immediately as it happens.
