Yes we have been successfully been using a CD Rom Tower for over a year, we
are located 350 miles North of Los Angeles and you are welcome to visit or
installation. You are probably getting so many confilicting ideas because
there are so many different was to configure LANS ! The answer depends more
on your budget, your current LAN configuation and future growth patterns.
There are many, many schools using towers and even peer to peer LAN sharing
schemes my guess is very few are exactly alike. We run Novell 3.12 Netware,
our 7 CD Rom tower and connections and programming came from The Network
Group here in Mammoth Lakes. We run just about everything on it including
Windows MPC programs (Groliers), SIRS, MAS and never have had a failure or
hiccup. We have eight workstations in the Library.
