average book/ cd costs?

Budget time is here again!  Our administration has requested the average
price of books and cd-roms so that they can increase  :-)  our budget to
cover at least one new hardcover book per student and at least one new
cd-rom per class (not grade).  Can anyone provide me with average costs?
I have the SLJ 3/94 figure of $14.66 as an average cost.  Any other
sources or figures would be appreciated.  If there is interest, I will
try to post a <HIT>.
