  I agree with Mike's comments.

  Please continue to spread the word among your teacher and administrator
colleagues and friends!  It is vitally important that we continually
promote this unique and valuable information and communications resource,
the Internet!  Our job relates most directly to _information_ and this is
the Information Superhighway in the making.  We are in on the beginning of
a revolution, and need to firmly establish our position here, for now and
the future!  (BTW, I think we are doing a darn good job of it!)

  Did anyone happen to hear the All Things Considered piece (on NPR) last
night about Newt Gingrich and his plans for the Internet?  One of the
"negative" comments toward the Internet was from a librarian!  I thought
this was a rather atypical view from our profession, and wrote to say so
via their e-mail address.
