I know - there's room for mispronunciation (sp?), true. But, if we're moving
into a society that's more closely linked than ever before, I suppose it
wouldn't hurt to educate the FEW who don't know what the autobahn is. Why?
Two reasons: 1) The autobahn has been known for years as a place where there
is no speed limit - isn't that the idea (virtually) behind this fascinating
new technology? Aren't we supposedly going to be able to do things that
until now have only appeared on Star Trek? - and - 2) I've been told that
the materials that went into building the autobahn are superior to those
used in our (USA) interstate highways? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but
I thought there were no potholes in the autobahn. I've nearly lost tires in
some of the holes on some I- hwys in the states. (I'm not complaining... just
listing possible reasons why it might be a good idea to change the name).

I guess I've got another reason - we've rather arrogantly expected other
cultures to learn English so they can communicate with us. Why not educate
US about some other languages?

This is not a flame - sorry if it should sound as such. Just an opinion.
