Dear LM-Net members,
   We teacher-librarians of Clarkstown ask if you can help us by sending
letters to the members of our school board.
  As I have stated earlier they plan to eliminate the program of having
teacher-librarians SMS(School Media Specialists) in the schools of
Clarkstown.  We believe in the program of on-going education in our schools
K-12.  The board of education plans to eliminate this program for our
students.  We have tried to convince them that students in districts with
this program do better than students in districts without it.  They don't
want to listen to us.  Perhaps you can convince them.
  I am not fighting for my job as I have dual certification in elementary
education and as a teacher-librarian. (I will have a job in September---one
way or the other!!)  I am fighting because I believe in the importance of
what we do.
  Please help us in this fight by writing to the board of education members
listed below.  Please help us explain to them the importance of what we do.
