In May, I will be leaving my position as library media specialist at Cobre High School in Bayard New Mexico. Bayard lays just outside of Silver City, which is the gateway to the Gila National Forest and the Cliff Dwellings--beautiful country and four gentle seasons--never too cold or too hot--about 6,000 feet elevation. Cobre H.S. is 85% Hispanic, 550 students, and beginning the re-learning initiative. Applicants should be familiar with Internet and automated circulation. A plus would be an interest in media literacy, since New Mexico aims to become the first media literate state. Inquiries should be directed to David Jacquez, Principal, Cobre High School, P.O. Box 749, Bayard, NM 88023. Phone: 505/537-3321. Julia Robinson Cobre H.S. Bayard NM 88023 schlcbr6@technet.nm.org
