I wanted to share with you the tips I received from many helpful people.
Thank you to those who responded.
From Peter Milbury:

Here is something that may be of interest.

The review of the French Language Press is supplied by Georgetown
University based on information provided to them daily by the French
Embassy. The Review summarizes news reported in the French language
press.

Type=1
Name=Revue de presse Francaise (French Language Press Review)
Path=1/news/news/general/french_language
Host=burrow.cl.msu.edu
Port=70
URL: gopher://burrow.cl.msu.edu:70/11/news/news/general/fch_language

From Shelley Lochhead:

To subscribe to Revue de Presse, send to this address to get the
application form:

smtp%"frog@guvax.georgetown.edu"

RdP is a daily news digest of the french press, published for the
French community in the USA.

I'd be interested in any hits you get for Spanish or German.

Fom Rachel Carlson:

I enjoy reading the French news, which I find via PEG, a peripatetic,
eclectic gopher (no kidding, that's the gopher's name). I've bookmarked
it, so I don't exactly remember how to get there, but you can do a
Veronica search for it by asking for PEG on the search screen. The PEG
menu lists "other gophers"--number 6, I think. Anyway, on a submenu you
will find "French speaking gophers" under which is Ministere Culturel,
under which is "Revue de Presse francaise" or something to that effect.
(I give directions this badly when I'm in a car, too.)

On the menu that lists French-speaking gophers, you will also find
German, Spanish, etc.

Sorry to be so vague, but I'm at home, without my directions. If you get
lost on the highway, email me at rcarlso@eis.calstate.edu or
aixoise@netcom.com during the week, and I'll try to do better.

.

From Marsha Korobkin:

You may be able to find some help in the soc.culture newsgroups. There
is one called soc.culture.french. I know there are others for other
cultures.

From Valerie Haas:
