         MEDIA EDUCATION: INSTRUCTIONAL IMPERATIVES FOR THE YEAR 2000

                               July 22-24, 1994

                   Wisconsin Center, University of Wisconsin

                              Madison, Wisconsin

Classroom teachers, Librarians and School Library media specialist and College
Education faculty interested in integrating media education into the curriculum
should attend this conference sponsored by the The National Council of Teachers
of English Assemebly on Media Arta and the National Telemedia Council.  David
Considine, Robyn Quin and George Gerbner will headline this conference focusing
on the interaction of media studies with critical thinking, gloabal education,
and multicultural education.  Thirty five break out sessions are also scheduled.

Conference fees are $115 for NCTE and NTC membermers and $135 for nonmembers if
received at NCTE by July 1.  Full time students can register for $60 if a NCTE
or NTC member or for $70 for nonmembers.  Registration includes a reception on
Friday, coffee and refreshments each morning and conference materials.
