I can remember as though it were yesterday exactly what I was
doing when hearing the news about JFK's assassination.

I was in ninth grade - in gym class on the field playing soccer
when my P.E. teacher called us students all together. It was
around 2:00 pm. He told us that the President had been shot
and was in critical condition. That was all he knew at that
point.

I was devastated because JFK was one of my idols.

It was a long trip home on the bus. Upon arriving home I fell
into the arms of my mother who was waiting for me and my two
sisters. She knew how hurt, disappointed and worried I was!

It was, indeed, one of the saddest days of my life.

I spent the whole weekend literally glued to the TV. Images
from the motorcade to the funeral are still part of my memories.

To this day, I have also considered Jackie Kennedy one of my
heroes! She truly exhibited "grace under pressure."

> Hello everyone, One of our 8th grade social studies teachers is planning
